Since its creation in 1998, Gestió Viària S.L. (Gestvia) has been responsible for the management, operation and promotion of both limited and regulated car parks and parking areas. Since 2003, Gestvia has handled the direct management of the municipal service that manages and operates controlled parking areas.

The zones blaves (blue zones) are an essential tool for managing mobility in the city, as they encourage the availability of short-term parking spaces and limiting long-term street parking.

The regulated service aims to rotate vehicles for a more rational use of the public parking spaces available in certain areas of the city. In Calella, the time allotted for blue zone parking is 20 minutes to 4 hours.

Since 2008, Calella's Municipal Circulation Bylaw (OMC) regulates the public service for vehicle parking in areas with controlled time limits (Art. 23 OMC).

Gestvia manages approximately one million blue zone tickets every year.
